Recommended plan of management: 6-12 acupuncture treatments . Acupuncture is a chiropractic service and is billed under your chiropractic coverage. For your first appointment, please select the " Acupuncture Initial Consultation and Examination" appointment. Service selections include: acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping, electro-stimulation, acupressure, acupressure beads. Please specify your preference. Acupuncture is defined as a system of diagnosis and treatment based on a comprehensive Chinese theory of energy balance. The treatment involves insertion of small, sterile needles into precise anatomical sites in the body to produce therapeutic effects. The benefits of acupuncture are wide-ranging and profound. Through a chiropractic scope of treatment, acupuncture calms the nervous system, speeds up healing, improves circulation, reduces inflammation, and corrects musculoskeletal system dysfunction. Acupuncture is also a useful adjunct treatment to be included in a comprehensive health management program for a host of other conditions, such as: nausea, vertigo, scar rehabilitation (including c-section and post-operative scars), headaches, low back pain, menstrual cramps, osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ, and so much more. Dr. Jenna is certified in the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture “painless needling technique”. She strives to make your acupuncture experience as positive and comfortable as possible utilizing a combination of this technique and ultra-fine gauge needles. Specially coated needles are available to those who are particularly sensitive.
